You are very lucky to be able to photograph what you see on your nature explorations at age 7. I like your sword ferns the best, but the snake is cute.
It seems very strange now, but for many years I mainly took pictures of people, even when we were hiking, whitewater rafting, or traveling to beautiful nature locations.
When I was 44 years old, I went on a 6 week backpacking trip through the southwest. I was alone, with nature my only companion, so I spent lots of time enjoying and photographing the gorgeous scenery in the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, and other spectacular places. I still enjoy looking at those pictures for the wonderful memories they bring back.
By 1984, I had a burning desire to share the magic I saw in nature with other people so they would want to protect nature's special places and the birds and animals that live in them. That was the start of my serious nature photography career at age 46. I think you have me beat by a long shot.
Photoguy, I hope you always take the time to stop and enjoy the treasures around you. Sometimes when we get older we get into so many activities, we forget to slow down and appreciate the little things in life. I often take my best photographs when I immerse myself in nature and forget about everything else.
Have fun taking pictures and be sure to protect our natural environment.
