Peacock Grouper
Also known as the Blue-spotted Grouper, this 12-15 inch fish inhabits both lagoons and seaward reefs and feeds mostly at night. Solitary habits suit a somewhat shy temperament. Although not native to Hawaii, the grouper was intentionally introduced and now has spread to many reefs there. However, it is native to Palmyra and one of her more colorful residents.
